This specialized oil painting workshop is a hands-on introduction to oil painting techniques. We will cover the basics, from creating an underpainting to mixing pigment, blending and brush techniques, to value and composition.

Students will work on a step by step painting of either a seasonal landscape in colour, or a monochromatic portrait (subject will be decided ahead of time by the organizers). The instructor will give step by step demonstrations, and provide one on one instruction and feedback for students who need extra help.

Oil Paints take roughly 2 weeks to fully dry, so the painting may be left at the studio to dry, and picked up at a later date, or carefully taken back to school.
