Learn the basics of designing your very own comic, including writing a narrative, character design, world building/environment design, and panel layouts! This week has more lessons and theory because we'll be writing, planning, and designing our comics. The lineart, colouring, and panel illustration will happen in Comics & Manga 2.

🗓️ Comics & Manga 2 | Jul 14 - 18, 2025
Take your comics to the next level by learning the illustrative techniques needed for drawing a completed comic, including line art, colour theory, perspective, and composition to create an original comic! This week focuses on more application, so it will have more illustration demos and less theory / lessons compared to Comics & Manga 1.

Note: Although they are recommended to be taken together, you may choose to attend Comics & Manga 1 and Comics & Manga 2 separately.
🤓 What to Expect in Class
Each lesson will cover fundamental figure drawing techniques and concepts to ensure students develop a comprehensive understanding of human anatomy and structure. In this 1-2 week program, you will get:
✍️ 1 assignment a day for 5 days per week. Expect to dedicate 3-4 hours to complete the lesson and assignments.
📥 If you cannot make the live session, you may register or change your booking to the Recorded Learning Option (RLO), and submit artwork and questions for feedback and advice from the instructor.
💬 Personal feedback, notes and drawovers on your submitted artwork via Google Classroom.

This summer program is suitable for teens and adults looking to explore comics and manga illustration in depth, and ideal for art portfolio preparation! Enjoy live learning throughout the week with personal critiques on submitted artwork.
